Agua Fresca
After dining at the delicious La Otra Escuela Taqueria on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles, I was inspired to create a few agua fresca recipes of my own. Summer fruit is peaking and what better way to enjoy a summer evening than with a glass of homemade agua fresca...and maybe a little bit of tequila...Of course you will have to play around with these recipes depending on the juiciness and sweetness of the fruit...Melon Agua Fresca: I used a sharlyn melon for one batch and a piel de sapo melon for another...1 melon, chopped2 cups filtered waterorganic sugar to tasteBlend the melon. Pour through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Add water. Taste. Add sugar if needed. Mix. Chill.
