Blackberry Hibiscus Lemon Drop

For each cocktail...Ingredients:1 Tablespoon hibiscus simple syrup (recipe below)2 Tablespoons freshly-squeezed lemon juice1 tsp smashed blackberries2 ounces vodka2-3 ice cubesBlackberries for garnishDirections:In a cocktail shaker, combine the Hibiscus Simple Syrup, lemon juice, vodka, blackberries, and ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass of your choice. Garnish with a fresh blackberry.

Hibiscus Simple Syrup

Makes about one cup...Ingredients:1 cup sugar1 Tablespoon dried, organic hibiscus flowers1/2 cup filtered waterDirections:In a small saucepan, stir together the sugar, hibiscus flowers, and water and cook over medium heat. Simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved and the mixture has thickened into a syrup, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
