Garden Rose Shrub Cocktail
This Garden Rose Shrub Cocktail is for the adventurous at heart. It's a one-of-a-kind libation. This recipe will tickle your taste buds and will make your senses sing. Filled with fresh, organic rose petals and a super special cider, it's the perfect beverage to sip on in the afternoon whilst harvesting all of your glorious blooms in your garden. Or if you don't have a garden, it will whisk you away to the rose garden of your dreams. We recently returned from a whirlwind adventure in the Santa Ynez Valley, one of our absolute favorite regions of California. We had the pleasure of touring the lovely Grace Rose Farm, a dreamy rose farm just outside of Los Olivos where they grow organic, edible roses. It was a dream to say the least and I quickly got to shakin' up some drinks with the mounds of petals as soon as we got home (I of course have many petals drying as we speak for future goodies I'll share with you soon!).We also stumbled upon a fantastic wine shop in the center of Los Alamos, another favorite little town in the valley. Casa Dumetz is a gem and we tasted the most incredible wines and ciders; the Mourvèdre cider was so unique and was one of the most original, delicious experiences I've had in years. I highly recommend stopping by even if you are simply passing through. I was so impressed with Sonja, the winemaker as well. She is so warm and gregarious. This recipe is a love song to the Santa Ynez Valley....oh how I love you so...
