Ginger + Rosemary + Hibiscus Iced Tea
When I was a little tartelette, I remember summers running around my backyard with my sister swimming in our above-ground pool...and my mother's sun tea sunbathing in the garden. I actually never liked tea growing up but now I love it...especially iced tea. There are so many different types of flavored teas you can purchase at the store, yet I really love coming up with my own combinations using fresh ingredients. I typically have loose hibiscus tea in my pantry as I use it to make all sorts of homemade beauty products and it's also a great flavoring agent in sweet recipes (have you tried my Chocolate Torte + Hibiscus Cream recipe?...it's pretty tasty!)You will need:1 empty tea bag2 tablespoons organic hibiscus flowers1 teaspoon organic gingerSprig of rosemaryQuart-sized glass pitcher with a lidDirections:Fill pitcher with filtered water leaving about one-inch space from the top. Throw in a small piece of ginger. Place hibiscus flowers in tea bag and tighten with string. Place the tea bag in the pitcher. You can either make sun tea by placing in a sunny spot outside or on a sunny windowsill for about 4 hours or you can make a cold-brewed tea by placing in the fridge overnight. When ready to serve, pour tea into an ice-filled glass and garnish with a sprig of rosemary. Cheers!Recipe + Styling + Photos by Cassie Winslow
