Simple Side French Braid

braid 3There is something so chic about a french braid. It can be easy to do it yourself once you find a rhythm. Sometimes it's helpful to look into a mirror and sometimes this works against you. Try it both ways and see what works for you...personally, I can't use a mirror while braiding my own hair...How To: Part your hair to whichever side you prefer and make sure you exaggerate the part as shown in the above pictures. Gather a 1 inch section of your hair right along the part and separate into three sections. Begin braiding your hair as usual one time through to create a base. Then, begin adding more hair to each section as you continue braiding....the amount of hair you add depends on the look you are going for...if you want a dainty french braid, add less....for the look shown, add more...I typically add about 1/2 inch section for this look yet it depends on the thickness of your hair. Continue to keep the sections separated using your fingers while you are adding hair to each section. Once you reach a point behind your ear, feel free to pin and leave your hair down for the look shown below...or you can continue braiding without adding any more hair to the sections and secure with a band.IMG_2697Photography by N.C.
