Locks with Auj Poj

Locks | Deco TarteletteWe're talking all about locks over on Auj Poj today...head on over to see the full article...What are some of your favorite/staple hair products?*Shimmering Lights is a great product for blondes...it keeps my blonde locks nice and bright...*Prime Style Extender by Living Proof is a great product to use on damp hair. I try to wash my hair every few days so however I decide to style it, this product holds the style well for a few days...How do you deal with frizzy and damaged hair?*Kevin Murphy Born Again Essential Treatment is amazing...it's an investment but has really saved my hair...How do you enhance or tame down your curls? What do you use?*My hair has a little natural wave to it. If I shower in the evening and let my hair air dry, it's not a pretty sight in the morning. I have found it helps to put it in a top knot in the evening and I wake up to smooth, fluid waves. Throw on some lipstick and sunglasses and I'm good to go.What have you tried that just doesn't vibe?*I'm still trying to learn how to use a hair straightener to curl my hair...I just can't get the rhythm down and I end up with jagged curls. What is your go-to hair style and why?*I simply use hot rollers on dry hair, leave them in for 15 minutes, spritz on a little hair spray, then allow the curls to cool for 10 minutes before touching them. I brush them out and use a little more hair spray. I love styling my hair this way as I style it once and it lasts a few days...Locks | Deco Tartelette*A side french braid is also a fairly simple go-to for me. I have been braiding my hair for so long I can do it with my eyes closed...if you are not the best at braiding your hair, practice (and patience) makes perfect!Locks | Deco TarteletteAny other secrets you want to share?*I love the look of finger waves but the old-school way of styling this gorgeous 'do is so time consuming. To achieve a similar look, I use a super tiny curling iron and wrap 1/2-1" sections around the rod. It's not necessary to curl all of your hair....just the top portion...about two sections. Spritz with hair spray and allow the curls to cool for about 10 minutes. Gently brush out. Then, using your hands, smooth into "finger waves". I have long hair so I typically twist into a bun at the nape of my neck, tuck under, and pin with bobby pins. Voila!Locks | Deco TartelettePhotos by N.C. WinslowHair Styled by Cassie Winslow
