Popovers + Stovetop Pink Lady Apples

Popovers + Stovetop Pink Lady Apples | Deco TartelettePopovers can be delectable...it's fun to think of accompaniments to serve with this airy treat and pink lady apples are plentiful this time of year. Pink ladies are crisp and tart. I had my first pink lady apple when I was living in Hawaii and have been enamored with them ever since...and how cute is the name "Pink Lady"? Feel free to serve with your favorite accompaniment.Popovers:Yield: 6 popoversYou will need:3/4 cups organic all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon salt1 1/2 eggs at room temperature (you can incorporate the other 1/2 into a scramble the next morning)1 tablespoon raw or organic butter, melted...reserve a bit to grease the pan3/4 cup organic milk, at room temperatureNow..Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Grease the popover pan with butter. Place in the oven for two minutes so the pan is nice and hot when you add the batter. Whisk all ingredients in a large bowl until smooth-do no over mix. Fill popover pan until a little under half full. You will feel like you are not putting enough batter in but you are! They pop up! Bake for 25 minutes checking in half way through using your oven light only...no peeking! Serve immediately. Don't worry if they collapse a bit...they are scrumptious regardless.Stovetop Pink Lady Apples:Chop one large organic pink lady apple. Place in a cast iron skillet over medium heat along with the following ingredients:2 tablespoons of raw or organic butter3 tablespoons filtered water1 tablespoon organic brown sugar1 1/2 tablespoons organic sugar1 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 teaspoon saltLet simmer while the popovers are baking, about 25 minutes.Photo/Recipe/Styling by Cassie Winslow
