We've been getting our hands dirty in the garden, picking flowers, and of course, doing some spring cleaning...to celebrate, we made a batch of rose hip sidecars. Even if the trees have yet to bloom wherever you may roam, make a batch of these cocktails and you will feel like spring has arrived. Cheers!Rose Hip Sidecar CocktailFor each cocktail...Ingredients:2 ounces brandy1 ounce CointreauJuice from half organic lemon1 tablespoon Rose Hip + Lemon Simple Syrup (recipe below)Handful of iceDirections:Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Stir. Strain into a tumbler of your choice...I used this beauty...cheers!Rose Hip + Lemon Simple SyrupIngredients:1 cup organic sugar1/2 cup filtered water3 tablespoons fresh-squeezed organic lemon juice1 teaspoon organic, edible dried rose hip petalsDirections:Place all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Allow to simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Discard dried rose hip petals if you wish by straining using a fine mesh sieve.
