Summer Happenings

This season really seemed to fly by, don't cha think? As much as I am going to miss the long, warm days filled with delicious cocktails, multiple farmers' market stops every week, and bunches upon bunches of my favorite summer flowers, I am definitely looking forward to fall and all of the magic it brings. In the meantime, here are some of our favorite summer happenings...A few of my favorite summertime finds...(the coziest jeans, the loveliest velvet heels, and organic, edible roses from our local farmer's market)...these heels are meant to be worn everywhere and with everything, yes?A day trip to San Francisco and a stop at the most scrumptious bakery, Le Marais, for Eggs Benedict on their fabulous brioche and an apricot jam filled jelly doughnut of course!A trip to wine country which wouldn't be complete without a stop at Healdsburg SHED...we filled our cart with all sorts of local produce, fresh baked bread still warm from the oven, and a sandwich to snack on whilst wine tasting and exploring...Every summer, we make sure to head down south for some much needed time in LALA land. We love making a stop at Intelligentsia to quench our insatiable coffee thirst. They have the best coffee!We came upon this gorgeous succulent wall in Venice near the canals...isn't it just lovely!?The Orange County-based Sidecar Doughnuts opened a storefront in Santa Monica so we had to pop in and try a few...they definitely lived up to their reputation!Los Alamos is one of our favorite little towns in California and the Alamo Motel is such a little gem...an overnight stop here is always a pleasure on our way back from LA to Santa Cruz...This dahlia season has been one for the books! There are so many varieties available at our local flower shop and we are growing these gems in our own little garden!Alas, it's such a treat to have a local dahlia grower in our own neighborhood here in Santa Cruz. She so generously shares her beauties by opening up a dahlia stand every year. I keep a close eye on her Instagram account and head over to her place to purchase a bunch or two as often as I can...I just can't get enough!What have you been up to this summer?
