The Madonna Inn + San Luis Obispo
The Madonna Inn is a California institution...with its rococo decor and elaborate facade, 'tis a pink palace indeed...We stayed in the delightful Carin Room where one is surrounded by walls covered in pink glitter and massive golden cherubs hanging from the ceiling...From an early morning game of tennis on their iconic pink courts, to an afternoon luxuriating in the pink umbrella-lined pool, you will be engulfed in a world of kitsch and swept away to complete relaxation...Just a short drive to downtown San Luis Obispo and less than 10 minutes to the beach, the location is ideal...San Luis Obispo has a charming downtown...we found the most lovely fromagerie complete with cheese tastings and all sorts of eclectic pantry items...and just across the street, Scout Coffee has delicious cappuccinos and is so gorgeously decorated...how cute is their wallpaper!?If you find yourself at the beach, be sure to stop at Frutiland La Casa del Sabor in Arroyo Grande...it is hands down one of the best taquerias I have ever been too...they make blue corn tortillas from scratch and the piña colada (served in a pineapple of course) is out of this world...Happy Travels!{Look 1} Bow Back Dress: Kate Spade{Look 2} Swimsuit: Marysia, Panama Hat: J.Crew, Sunglasses: Karen Walker{Look 3} Overalls: Madewell, Striped Blouse: Cupcakes and Cashmere, Boater Hat: Lack of Colour via Free People, Heels: J.Crew, Sunglasses: Karen WalkerPhotography by Nicholas Winslow + Cassie Winslow
